The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is Australia’s largest professional general practice organisation, representing more than 40,000 urban and rural general practitioners.
If you have accepted an AGPT training position with RACGP, before you commenced GP training you will have joined the college (if you are dual pathway you will also have joined the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine).
GP Synergy facilitates GP training on behalf of RACGP.
The RACGP training pathway:
The RACGP Curriculum for Australian General Practice 2016 provides outcomes and criteria that address the core skills of general practice and the variety of contexts in which GPs practice. Please note: from mid-2022 FARGP will be replaced with a Rural Generalist Fellowship (FRACGP-RG).
The GP Synergy training program addresses the RACGP curriculum. To see how the curriculum is addressed for each GP Synergy subregion, visit GP Synergy Curriculum Maps – RACGP.
